We’re very excited that Bread and Water for Africa UK has been selected to participate in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2018. We’re fundraising for our Kitchen Garden project in Sierra Leone, so that children at We Are The Future School, get a healthy meal every school day.

The wonderful part of the Christmas Challenge, which runs from 27 November to 4 December, is that every £1 you give to our kitchen garden via theBigGive.org.uk is doubled during the week of the campaign. Our target is to raise £2,000, and as this is a matching campaign, this could amount to £4,000 for our project. One donation, double the impact.

Our kitchen garden project provides daily meals for 230 children from poor fishing communities in Sierra Leone who have been devastated by Ebola.

This project helps children like Derick Smith, a student in Class 3 at the school. He was often either absent or sleeping in class, too tired because he was always hungry. When he started getting his free lunch his reading and writing improved so much, his father even went to school to find out what had brought about such a miraculous change!

So do it now, donate to us via theBigGive.org.uk. Just a £20 donation will provide a healthy meal every day to a boy like Derek for two whole months.
