Building the future

Leaving a gift in your will is a way of ensuring your support changes the lives of future generations of children.

When Phyllis Keino first started building Lewa Children’s Home in the 1970s, it was hard, punishing work. Yet it was work she undertook gladly. As she says now: “We were building the future.” And so it proved.

Over the following years, hundreds of children have found safety, belonging and love at Lewa. Today, the home is filled with smiling faces, the laughter of play and the joy of exam results, all from children who started with nothing.

It is only thanks to her incredible drive, and the generosity of supporters like you, that Phyllis has been able to take this extraordinary journey. But while so many children have gone on to fulfil their potential, the sad truth is that there are always more marginalised, impoverished and destitute children who have nowhere to call home.

That’s why many of our supporters choose to remember us with a gift in their wills. They know that, by leaving this most personal of gifts, they can provide a better future for some of Africa’s poorest children even after they are gone.

If you would like to find out how your love can live on and build a better future for Africa’s poorest children, ask for our ‘Gift of a lifetime’ booklet today.
