Get involved Fundraise for us Trek the Brecon Beacons and the Peak District Next summer we’ll be putting together two teams of people who will be joining 100s of other intrepid walkers in the Trekfest to cross the Brecon Beacons 6-7 July and the Peak District 31 August-1 September. Last time the Bread and Water for Africa UK team participated in the Cycle Challenge in Tanzania, it raised an outstanding £36,000. This year, help us raise more vital funds for children in Africa by trekking across some of Britain’s toughest but most beautiful terrain. If you decide to walk across the Beacon National Park in South Wales, you’ll spend two days walking miles under cloudless skies to climb stunning hills, cross marshes and pass tranquil reservoirs. You’ll also climb Brecon Beacons’ highest peak, Pen Y Fan (886m), and the highest point in South Wales. You’ll start in the picturesque Hope valley, at the heart of the Peak District, then cross rugged peaks, and landscape dotted with reminders of the industrial revolution. You’ll also climb Kinder Scout, the peak of all peaks, and find out for yourself why the Peak district has the reputation for one of Britain’s most stunning parks. Click here to register to TrekFest The Peaks - 31 August & 1 September 2019 Why not give it a try? You can do these walks whether you are a beginner trekker or an expert trail runner as you can decide how far you want to walk. There are two different treks to choose from in the Brecon Beacons and the Peaks: either 25 or 50 kilometres. Although you may find it tough going, both physically and mentally, you’ll have a tremendous sense of achievement once you cross the finishing line and forget the aches and tiredness as you share your experiences with fellow trekkers over an evening drink. You’ll also know that you have raised hundreds of pounds to help the children in Africa, who Bread and Water for Africa UK are supporting with education, food and healthcare. We promise you it’ll be an experience you’ll always remember: You’ll meet other fellow trekkers, who share similar beliefs to you, have shown what your body can do, and supported a great cause – all over two days!
